1.6 MILLION TONS OF WHEAT STOCK IN THE LARKANA DIVISION ARE DAMAGED BY RAIN.

LARKANA: According to a report from ARY News on Tuesday, the Larkana division's supply of roughly 1.6 million tonnes of wheat was destroyed by the heavy rains.

According to information, the Sindh government was unable to protect wheat stock during the recent rains, and 600,000 tonnes of wheat stock that was kept in warehouses as well as 10,000 tonnes of wheat that was left out in the open in the Larkana region were entirely destroyed.

It is anticipated that flour costs, which are now being sold at Rs120 per kg due to damage to the wheat stock, would reach Rs200 per kg in the near future.

Following the setting of the Rs4,000 wheat support price by the Sindh government, wheat is also being hoarded at this time.

Abdul Rauf Ibrahim, chairman of the Karachi Wholesalers Grocers Association (KWGA), had expressed concern over a nationwide flour shortage and skyrocketing costs of up to Rs200 per kilogramme.

The country is expected to have a flour crisis in the next days, according to KWGA Chairman Abdul Rauf Ibrahim, who was speaking to ARY News programme Bakhabar Savera. He predicted that the price of flour would increase by Rs 200 per kg.
