ISLAMABAD: Finance service on Thursday dismissed the media reports asserting that the public authority has removed charges on power bills in the midst major areas of strength for of by dealers,
Taking to Twitter, the service said: "News being delivered by media channels that Govt has reclaimed the choice of duty on power charges, it is explained that there is no legitimacy in such news and no choice has so far been taken by the govt."
The assertion further said talks were in progress with merchants on power bills charge issue.
Prior, neighborhood brokers have organized a dissent in Saddar area of Karachi against the burden of General Sales Tax (GST) on the flow power bills.
The neighborhood brokers held a dissent against the overall deals charge (GST) of Rs6,000 each month exacted on power bills for retailers.
Talking on the event, Karachi dealers said that the power charges as of now incorporate deals charge, annual duty, fuel change and extra expenses. "Assortment of general deals charge from shoppers is an all out unfairness," they added.
