EMPLOYEES OF FIA CYBERCRIME CIRCLE UNPAID FOR TWO MONTHS




 According to a report from ARY News on Friday, 243 personnel of the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) cybercrime circle across the nation went without pay for two months.


The Grade 1 through Grade 14 contractual employees of the FIA cybercrime circle reportedly did not get salaries. For a lengthy period of time, the officers and employees were assigned to the NR3C Project Phase III on a contractual basis.


The contracts of the aforementioned workers were previously extended from July 1 to August 31, but the authorities have not yet issued orders about a new extension for September and beyond.


Cybercrime National Response Center (NR3C)

The National Response Center for Cyber Crime (NR3C) is the most recent addition to the FIA's remit, and it is primarily responsible for handling crimes in Pakistan that use technology. According to the official website, it is the only unit of its kind in the nation and in addition to responding to complaints that are directly received, it also helps other law enforcement authorities with their own cases.


Digital forensics, technical investigation, information system security audits, penetration testing, and training are areas of specialisation for NR3C.


Since its creation, the unit has been engaged in the capacity building of police, intelligence, judicial, prosecutorial, and other government officers. organisations.


A significant number of seminars, workshops, and training/awareness programmes for academics, print and electronic media, and lawyers have also been held by NR3C.


Another NR3C project is the Cyber Scouts programme, in which a select group of children from various private and public schools receive training to handle computer emergencies and raise awareness among their fellow students, instructors, and parents.
