Eight additional express trains will resume running to Rohri, according to Pakistan Railways, weeks after they were suspended due to the severe monsoon rains that caused flooding in the Sindh region.
Eight trains will be permitted to travel to Rohri from Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi, according to Railways. The trains included the Tezgam, Jaffar Express, Business Train, Allama Iqbal Express, Karachi Express, Karakoram Express, and Fareed Express.
The train service between Nawabshah and Khairpur will continue to be interrupted. Following extensive floods in some areas of the province on August 26, the train operations out of Karachi are still impacted.
As the flood waters in Sukkur receded, Railways announced on Thursday that train service on the Sukkur-Lahore route would resume on September 10.
The Lahore-Sukkur route will reportedly resume operations, according Pakistan railway officials. Additionally, by September 10 routes from Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar to Rohri would be restored.
The Khyber Mail would depart Rohri station at the planned time of 5:45 am, according to a Pakistan Railways notice. The train would make stops in Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi on its way to Peshawar.
