BAIL EXTENSION FOR PTI LEADERS IN SECTION 144 VIOLATION CASE

ISLAMABAD: In a case involving the violation of Section 144 in the federal capital during the party's demonstration on August 20, an Islamabad district and sessions court extended interim bails for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders till September 27, according to ARY News on Wednesday.

The sessions court heard the bail requests submitted by former prime minister Imran Khan and other PTI officials in the Section 144 violation case, according to details.

The matter was postponed till September 27 after the court accepted the exemption requests of the former premier and several PTI leaders, including Faisal Vawda, Asad Umar, and Asad Qaiser.

The judge questioned police about the status of the investigation's conclusion during the hearing. The police responded by saying that the record is available and the investigation is over.

Advocate Babar Awan, Imran Khan's legal representative, said that the former prime minister was running in nine National Assembly by-elections. He pointed out that this was the 21st instance in which bail was requested against Imran Khan.

Asad Umar's involvement in the matter is currently being thoroughly investigated by the investigation officer (IO), per a court order. Remove Asad Umar's name from the case if he isn't taking part, the judge commanded.
